Juliette
Juliette is really coming along, she is very healthy and seems happy and is eating well and likes to play with her toys, sometimes all night! :) She has lots of little funny quirks, like she stands on her hind legs to be patted and she has started to meow alot more and is very affectionate, we really couldn’t have found a nicer cat to take home and take care of.

Nubbins
From Sandy Carney, July 2006
Nubbins
Sandy and Jim Carney, two of our favorite kitty Moms and Dads, adopted Mystic (now Nubbins) from our shelter two and a half years ago. Nubbins had been abused and had the tips of his ears and tail cut. Through a friend, they learned that Nubbins was the “model” for an oil painting to be entered in a silent auction at an MSPCA fundraiser. Needless to say, Sandy and Jim traveled to Boston to attend the fundraiser and to bid on the painting. Upon entering auction, Sandy relayed to Jim that she was willing to go up to $1,000 for the painting. . . . Jim hoped she was kidding. They did have the highest bid and the oil painting of Nubbins now hangs proudly in their family room. How lucky Nubbins is to have Sandy and Jim for a forever family.
By the fire

Hansel and Gretl
Friends at FOMAA:
Happy Thanksgiving! It’s been about 7 months since we adopted Hansel and Gretl, and they are doing great! We have attached a few photos from our first Thanksgiving together, they spent most of it in front of the fire place!
They both weigh about 12 pounds now, have nice, healthy coats and are both big cuddle bugs: a far cry from being found in a dumpster in Salem. Their first vet visits were very informative; Gretl’s front paws were x-rayed and we discovered that she is missing a radius in one of her forearms and her joints formed so that her leg is in a “L” shape. We also found out quickly that Hansel is blind in the one eye that he has, as he was bumping into walls, stranding himself on the couch, and falling down the stairs when he first arrived. We put up baby gates on the stairs so he wouldn’t fall down them, but he is so inquisitive and so brave that he learned how to climb the baby gate in two weeks, so we had evening lessons on how to climb up and down the stairs. He’s a pro now that he knows the layout of the house and runs up and down the stairs, hardly missing a beat. He occasionally still bumps into things, but that’s mostly when mom and dad move things on him! They are both remarkable animals, and we love them dearly! Thank you for saving them for us!

Comfort

Percy
Dear Linda and everyone at FOMAA,
Just thought I’d send a ‘quick’ email to update you on a little black kitty Percy that I adopted from you about three months ago. Before I gush about how much I love my new little buddy, I’d like to commend you on the wonderful job you do at the shelter. Both my mother and I were amazed and impressed by the cleanliness of your space, and the attentiveness and caring nature of your volunteers. They went to great lengths to introduce us to the potential adoptees and set us up with the right cat. Read the full story
